    The “arresta communia” reproduced in this volume are decrees of the Exchequer of Normandy issued between 1276 and 1299, which had a considerable influence on the evolution of Anglo-Norman law, to the point that, during the drafting and reform of the customary laws, some of their provisions were directly incorporated into the text of the customary law. This is the definitive scholarly edition, based on all the manuscripts, and thus corrects the errors contained in the otherwise difficult-to-access transcriptions of Warnkœnig and Léchaudé.
