(Missing from the BNF, Schulte III, p. 174). This seminal text was reprinted by Farmborough in 1971. It contains an extremely comprehensive study of the rules of monastic orders, as well as those applicable to canons and secular clergy during the early centuries of the Christian Church. It is one of the first scholarly documents on the subject. Schulte emphasizes the remarkable knowledge of the sources demonstrated by this German jurist.
