    R. Rodière summarizes this thesis by presenting it as "the best compilation of our knowledge concerning the transmission of universal legacies." Indeed, despite its broad title, the precise subject of this work deals solely with inheritances devolving to universal legatees (RIDC, no. 2-1958).
