    6 vols. in-8, half-leather tan, gilt titles and volumes on smooth spines decorated with lace, blind and gilt motifs and fillets, monogrammed binding, (boards rubbed with small mq., some stains on the edges and spines, vol. VI slightly broken).
    It is known that Carré produced his most important texts on civil procedure at the beginning of the 19th century—on par with Pigeau—which led F. Laferrière to classify him among the "glories of the country" (Histoire du droit français, vol. II, p. 403). He appointed Chauveau as his successor, and the latter published this major 6-volume edition in 1832, which went through several printings. The success of this text led to its reprinting for a very long time (see cat. no. 4-052, a copy from the 5th edition of 1880).
