    octavo, bound in 18th century mottled brown calf, spine with 5 raised bands decorated, set of titles in brown morocco, red edges, (scratches on the covers, faded gilts, joints slightly split), 510 p. + index.
    (BNF F24290, Berkeley KBD41 F45532, missing from van Zyl). The author was one of the major commentators on Roman law texts of the early 16th century. He is known for his commentary on the Pandects, but he also authored numerous specific treatises (on the law of fiefs, on procedural law, etc.). This is his first work, in its first edition. Superb printing by Gryphius with the printer's mark.
