    (Dupin No. 1412). The “Desgodets” was the major text on construction law in the 18th century. Published in 1748, it went through numerous editions. Its success was such that, after the promulgation of the Civil Code, the structure of the work was used to write this “new Desgodets,” which itself enjoyed similar success, going through numerous editions until 1857. The edition presented here is quite complete. It is particularly valuable for Volume 2, devoted to the system of liability for builders, which is rarely presented so fully and precisely at the time of publication.
