Kloocke), this important text by Benjamin Constant is presented here in its second and final edition published during the author's lifetime. It includes, in particular, a substantial 30-page introduction in which Constant revisits one of the most delicate periods of his life and justifies his choice to serve in the drafting of the Additional Act during the Hundred Days. These memoirs initially appeared in the journal Minerve in 1819. Their publication was interrupted following the death of the Duke of Berry and the subsequent censorship of the press, leading Constant to complete their publication in book form in 1822. Stendhal described this book as follows: “One senses the truth, even through the reticence of a witty man; this is what makes Mr. Constant's last book so compelling.” These older editions are uncommon.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Mémoire du Droit","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51962555990363,"sku":"9543","price":200.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0941\/0163\/5419\/files\/9543-1_a87571a4-931a-4b08-a7c4-36a2364ab40f.jpg?v=1766915508","url":"https:\/\/www.memoiredudroit.fr\/en\/products\/9543-constant-memoires-sur-les-cent-1","provider":"La Mémoire du Droit","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
