The author taught civil procedure and enforcement proceedings continuously between 1933 and 1963 (see, in this regard, the “farewell remarks” delivered at the end of his last lecture at the Faculty of Law and Economics in Paris on March 13, 1963, Coutances 1963, Cujas no. 258.045-33). Each year he revised his lecture notes, making this work the most thorough and thoughtfully considered text on the subject, with a preliminary chapter on general concepts, a first part on the seizure of movable property, a second on the seizure of immovable property, and finally a third part on the distribution of the proceeds from the sale of seized and sold assets.
