This volume brings together two sets of lecture notes. The first, as stated in the title, is devoted to the “role of will” in the formation and binding force of legal acts, especially contracts, with a particular focus on an analysis of the theory of freedom of contract, a study of the contract formation mechanism, representation, and “contractual control.” This text has never been published and therefore represents a significant contribution to the law of obligations. As for the second set of notes, it is worth noting that it is missing from the Cujas library.
