    This text is an expanded version of the “Précis d'histoire des doctrines économiques” (A Concise History of Economic Doctrines) that the author published before the war. The second text is perhaps more historical in its study of “a few socialist experiments,” drawing its reflections on antiquity but focusing particularly on the political and economic regime of the Incas of Peru and the Paraguayan reductions, as well as small, socialist-leaning communities in the Americas (Icarian communities, Mormons, other North American communities, etc.). From this perspective, it is a seminal text.
