A collection of diverse legal arguments: for the Goncourt Academy against the heirs of Alphonse and Léon Daudet who were attempting to block the publication of the Goncourt brothers' journal; for the inheritance and copyright of André Gide; and for the invasion of privacy committed by the newspaper France Soir in compiling a "dictionary of the loves" of various French actors. It also includes the author's plea on behalf of the Finaly couple, of Austrian origin, who sought refuge in France in 1936 and were deported during the war. Their children were then entrusted to another family who, upon their return from a concentration camp in 1945, refused to relinquish what they considered their own rights.
