    A captivating text, which, in alphabetical order, cites with precise references ordinances, judgments, and legal principles that struck its author as curious. The substantial nature of the chapter on "universities," the regulations concerning epidemics, clothing, and the rights of barbers and physicians, as well as those concerning weapons, should be highlighted. Very much in keeping with the 19th-century style, but highly enjoyable.
