    Dupin no. 1000 claims that this edition by François Pinsson, based on rediscovered manuscripts by the author, is a continuation of previous editions, whereas a comparison of the text with the earlier edition clearly shows that it is a revised edition. The work was one of the foundational texts of French Roman law doctrine, and its influence was considerable.
