Somewhat economically produced compared to the author's usual style, this volume, which gathers a number of the famous lawyer's pleadings either during the Occupation or in post-war purge trials, ultimately proves almost more interesting than his other collections of curiosities precisely because it showcases his raw, unfiltered legal eloquence. And one cannot deny Garçon's courage, who, in the trial of students from Poitiers accused of murdering a notorious collaborator in 1942, did not hesitate to take a rather clear stand against the regime that led to such excesses. This is one of his less common collections.
