It enjoyed great success in the 16th century, and subsequent editions followed. The last of these dates from 1763 and includes notes by Nicolas Chourier. Our examination of the catalogs of the main libraries we consulted reveals that editions prior to 1550 are quite rare, and ours is particularly noteworthy for being substantially expanded, notably with Rambaud's notes. It marks an important stage in the evolution of this text.
