First edition of this extremely rare text. It follows his 1791 speech on national conventions and fits within his body of writings on the nature of political powers in a free nation, and his speech on the French Republic to free men. Compared to these other texts, it is characterized by its emphasis on action, particularly demonstrating the violations of the 1791 Constitution committed by the royal power. The copy held by the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF), printed by Maillard, contains only 9 pages. Our copy, however, is identical to the duplicate held by the Berkeley library.
