(Dupin No. 914). A classic and well-known collection of annotated judgments of the Parliament of Toulouse, particularly interesting for its substantial section devoted to seigneurial law and that devoted to the law of contracts and obligations. Bretonnier, in his famous preface to the *Recueil des questions de droit* (Collection of Legal Questions), despite his well-known critical nature, speaks of it in these terms: “He is an excellent author; his style is elegant, his reasoning sound, and his decisions legal: he is both orator and jurist.” Contemporary legal scholarship offers this assessment of the collection: “The cited judgments are finely commented upon, the internal debates of the Court are presented, and the author does not hesitate to take sides and express his preference for one solution or another. The work leans towards a critical analysis of jurisprudence. It is also the first to adopt a thematic approach.” (S. Dauchy et al., collections of judgments and dictionaries of jurisprudence, MDD 2005, p. 84). Our copy contains the bookplates of many lawyers; this worn aspect gives it an endearing character.
