Land rent, although abolished by the Civil Code, continued to exist in the 19th century insofar as Articles 530 et seq. of the Code did not prohibit its realization and did not affect the maintenance of previous rents (see Dalloz, Jurisprudence générale, rente foncière no. 65). These two authors were the only ones in the 19th century to dedicate a monograph to it, based on the structure of Pothier's treatise on leases with rent.
