quarto, mottled fawn calf, spine with raised bands and decoration, burgundy title page, red edges, blind-tooled fillet framing the covers, fillet on the edges, text in two columns, (tears with small losses to the upper part of the spine, slight worming), very fresh interior, XII-396 p.
(Dupin no. 989 does not mention this edition). One of the few treatises specifically devoted to a technical concept in the law of obligations (even Pothier limited himself to studies on types of contracts and not on legal instruments; moreover, the term "subrogation" is not even mentioned in the index of his treatise on obligations), this work contains particularly captivating passages on the definition of the concept of "assignment" and its distinction from the concept of "subrogation." In our opinion, it is one of the older texts that most deserves to be rehabilitated in the field of the law of obligations.
