As such, Jousse's commentary constitutes one of the major works of proceduralist doctrine of the Ancien Régime. Moreover, the edition we have, which is the latest, is substantially expanded compared to previous ones and includes, in particular, more than 120 pages of tables of contents, making it very convenient to use. It also contains a preface on the new procedure introduced in Prussia and a reflection on the codification of procedure, as well as a text of more than 100 pages on "the idea of ​​civil justice," which constitutes one of the best syntheses of the subject. In short, an important book.
