The second volume contains a genealogy of the kings of England and a history of the wars between France and England, as well as an inventory of the treaties governing relations between the two countries. This truly exceptional work, written by one of the highest-ranking officials in the royal administration, constitutes a kind of treatise on the royal organization at the end of the 16th century. The coat of arms is that of Claude-François de Joly, Baron of Langos, Lord of Lieurrens, Choisi, and Soix, Bailiff of the Pays de Bresse and Bugey, who died in 1641 (BN XLV 1258/1259).
