(BNF (same edition) D1686, Berkeley BQV 192 WZ G48). This is the same text as Charles du Moulin's “Tractatus de eo quod interest” (1546). While not particularly original on the general principles of usury, its considerable length allows it to address the issues much more broadly than usual. It contains significant sections on the law of contracts (the status of alienation). It is also interesting for its discussion of the relationship between usury and negotiable instruments law, and the institution of the “montes pietarum” (pawnshops). It specifically examines the status of usury in the customary law of Lyon. This text has never been translated into French.
