14 folio volumes, full ivory vellum, manuscript page and volume number, engraved portrait of the author as frontispiece, red/black cover page, marbled edges, (bindings rather dirty, worming and small losses to the spine of volume 14, some foxing), a good copy despite these defects.
An exceptional collection of the author's complete works in 14 volumes, totaling over 7,000 pages, which Schulte emphasizes is particularly important for its section on criminal law, given the author's remarkable knowledge of the procedures used before ecclesiastical courts. Indeed, a substantial portion of the volumes is devoted to the theory of evidence, presumptions, authentic instruments, exceptions, and procedural bars. As for substantive criminal law, it is especially valuable for the sections on the repression of heresies and the provisions concerning Jews, schismatics, and apostates. It is a rare text (only two copies are cited in the NUC, and none are held by the BNF).
