II (it would seem that a metal object has rusted on it), cracked joints, heavy damp stain at the beginning of vol. 2 and blunted corners on this vol.), 35 f.-1122 / 838 p. + index.
    Here we have an edition of the Consiliorum sive Responsarum alone by this celebrated author, in a less attractive edition than the later one, and with significant dampstaining on both volumes. Nevertheless, the fundamental text remains unchanged, particularly noteworthy for the sections devoted to Jews and heretics, which are remarkably liberal in spirit and clearly attempt to shield them from the Inquisition. Also noteworthy are the chapters on punishments and criminal law in general, which constitute one of the major sources of 16th-century criminal law.
