(Dupin no. 1268). Here we have the finest work on French canon law. It is neither a treatise nor a manual on the subject, but a guide to the sources, containing in particular one of the first scholarly analyses of the sources of the Old Testament, a list of all the councils, constitutions, canons, and decretals. But perhaps the most interesting part is that devoted to the bibliography of the various authors of canon law, arranged by century. At the end, there is also a catalogue of the patriarchs of Constantinople and Antioch, a list of the different monastic orders, and the dates of their establishment. Tardif pays it a glowing tribute in his history of the sources of canon law.
