(Berkeley Law Library no. BQV 190. L86, Schulte III, p. 535, not held at the BNF). A treatise on canon law from the late 18th century, rather defensive in tone, in which the author attempts in particular to refute the doctrine of the philosophers and especially responds to Voltaire's virulent criticisms against certain institutions of the Roman Church; he also feels the need to rejustify the doctrine of the Catholic Church against Protestant theologians; overall, an interesting attempt to justify the status of the Roman Church against the Enlightenment.
