quarto, full marbled calf, spine with 5 raised bands richly decorated, marbled edges, burgundy paper, rolls on the edges, (upper spine slightly worn with a small tear, corners bumped with small losses of leather), fresh interior, LXII-977 p.
(Dupin No. 1379). A rare text—particularly much less common than the opinion of the Council of State on the Civil Code—containing the commentary of all the Courts of Appeal and also of the predecessor of the Court of Cassation on the text of the Code; under each article is the indication of the Court that presented the commentary. This text is preceded by a preliminary discourse, not on the Civil Code itself, but on the draft Civil Code drawn up by the commission, which notably included Portalis, and which is interesting to compare with the one published in 1804.
