Dupin notes that this author is criticized for “not being purely French in his sentiments.” It is a good general treatise on canon law, notable for its methodical approach and excellent passages on the law of obligations, which compare the rules of (Roman) civil law with those applied before ecclesiastical courts. Schulte emphasizes that it offers a very good approach to the French practice of ecclesiastical law. It includes a useful index of nearly 70 pages.
