    (Berkeley KBD 41.B67 for the 4th edition of 1608, Van Zyl Library no. 219 for a 1648 edition, missing from Dupin, Law Book Exchange cat. no. 33/36 for the first edition) Borcholten, a jurist from Lüneburg, was a student of Cujas. He taught law in Rostock and died in 1593. His commentaries on the various parts of the body of law were highly regarded, going through 5 editions in 10 years and continuing to be printed throughout the 17th century.
