    (Dupin no. 1872, Dramard no. 11). The discussion of the draft Civil Code before the Council of State resulted in several publications. First, the minutes were edited by Locré, Rondonneau, and Jouanneau. They were then incorporated into more substantial works (by Favard de Langlade and Fenet) which revised them and combined them with other preparatory work for the Code. Maleville's text, in this context, is of twofold interest. First, it brings together, for each article, the discussions that took place in sessions held far apart. Second, since Maleville, along with Portalis and Tronchet, was part of the commission tasked with preparing the draft Civil Code, he was one of the foremost experts on the text and consequently conveyed its spirit very faithfully. A very fine copy.
