    in-8, pl. fawn calf rooted, tit. on pc. of empire green leather, smooth spine decorated with friezes and gilt underlining fillets and gilt fleurons, (poor condition, upper plate detached, headcaps very damaged, lower joint split, some dampstaining in the inside), interior slightly yellowed but still fresh, XXIV-944 p.
    The bible of political thought during the 1848 Revolution and certainly the founding work of political science in France (see in particular Garnier-Pagès' introduction "On Political Science"). Among the authors of the entries are Louis Blanc, Cormenin, Lamennais, and Schoelcher (who naturally wrote the article "Slavery, Slave"). Very rare.
