    From the Cadot decision of 1889 onward, for forty years, Mr. Hauriou was the most assiduous, but also the most insightful and demanding, observer of administrative case law. He was also the foremost chronicler of what F. Burdeau called the "golden age" of the administrative judge, annotating all the major decisions of the turn of the century (Cames, Canal de Gignac, Casanova, Néris-les-Bains, Terrier, Thérond, Compagnie des Tramways, Dame Cachet, etc.). But Hauriou the case law expert also engaged in a daily examination of jurisprudence (he authored a total of 370 notes), and, through decisions of more modest significance, offered a contextualization of the legal frameworks that underpin them. This is an extremely rare second printing of the original edition. Even the reprint by Mémoire du Droit is out of print!
