“Father Faidherbe’s work on Distributive Justice is first and foremost an excellent historical overview. It is well known that Saint Thomas Aquinas, while offering high praise for this virtue, never explicitly addresses it, except in the Ethics, where he devotes only a few lessons to it. It is therefore not surprising that most commentators, especially modern ones (with the possible exception of Father Delos), have not given Distributive Justice the importance it deserves, or have even completely distorted the Master’s doctrine. A specialist in Thomistic philosophy was therefore needed to reconstruct, in a sense, the entire theory of Distributive Justice from the fundamental principles of the doctrine and the few specific indications on this subject. No one was better qualified than Father Faidherbe to carry out such a work.”
