    "The Treaty of Rome establishing the EEC provided not only for the free movement of goods and capital within member states, but also for the free movement of persons, complemented by the freedom of establishment, and the progressive elimination of discriminatory measures, ultimately leading to the assimilation of foreigners into nationality. In his doctoral thesis, adopting the perspective of private international law, C. compares the existing law governing the status of foreigners in France with the new system. In the first part, dealing with the freedom of establishment for natural persons, he examines the problems raised by their entry, residence, the exercise of a professional activity, etc. The second part, devoted to legal entities, studies their legal forms, the structures under which they can extend their scope of action (final entities, branches, agencies), the conditions relating to their nationality and international activity, the issue of exchange rates and tax liabilities, etc."
