"The book is divided into four parts. First, critical approaches to the concept of culture in criminology are presented. These are followed by a comparison of delinquency with cities and their neighborhoods, a presentation of parallel economies and phenomena of corruption, and finally, more specific studies under the original title of "extra-hexagonal prosecutions." As we can see, the reader gradually moves from theory to practice and thus finds themselves immersed, by the end, in original subjects: Islam and young people in the suburbs (Christian Guinchard), Turks in Germany (Nimet Güller), abortion in Poland (Jacqueline Heinen), and violence in Papua New Guinea (André Itéanu). As Jean-Michel Bessette explains from the outset, the exploration of the theme "Crimes and Cultures" led to reflections on the different value systems that bind human groups together, on the relationships between dominant and dominated cultures, on the imposition of norms and social regulations, all viewed from different perspectives.
