An exceptional work, comprising first the complete text of the five major codes and the Charter of 1814, but especially, in its very substantial second part, a dissertation entitled "On Law in General, its Essence and its Object," a compendium of case law notes on the five codes (arranged by article number), a reprint of the work published by S. the same year, "On the Council of State according to the Constitutional Charter," and a study of the procedure followed before the Court of Cassation, including references to all the judgments rendered by that Court on appeals to the Court of Cassation up to the date of publication.
