"The publishing history of the Sirey collection thus begins with the Jurisprudence of the Court of Cassation, or Summary of all Judgments of Rejection and Cassation (...), a true 'prototype' of 19th-century case law collections. This periodical, published between Year X and Year XII, is the fruit of the short-lived collaboration between Sirey and Denevers, a lawyer and clerk of the civil section of the Court of Cassation, likely a colleague of the Sarlat-based jurist at the Palais de Justice. Having fallen out in 1802, the two men continued their publishing projects separately. In 1805, the collection continued by Sirey took the name Jurisprudence of the Court of Cassation, or Summary of all Judgments of Rejection and Cassation on Important Points of Law and Procedure." Also in Year XIII, Sirey published an earlier volume, covering the years 1791 to Year X. (…) [It was] Maleville [who] further encouraged his protégé Jean-Baptiste Sirey in the undertaking of compiling a collection dedicated to the judgments of the Court of Cassation.” (P.-N. Barenot, thesis supervised by N. Hakim, 2014, p. 90 et seq.). Rare and sought after.
