The journal "Les Cahiers de la Nouvelle Journée" devoted its fourth volume to legal questions. This volume contains several seminal articles: L. Rolland: "Democracy and Decentralization in France," J. Bonnecase: "The State of Civil Law," and G. Renard: "Sovereignty and Parliamentarism." However, this work is particularly valuable for Maurice Hauriou's contribution entitled "The Theory of Institution and Foundation," on which Gabriel Marty commented in these terms: "One can only admire (...) the rigor and success of this synthesis, in which the leitmotifs of previous works intertwine, move, and combine. It is difficult to summarize without impoverishing it" (The Thought of Dean Maurice Hauriou and His Influence, ed. Pédone 1969, p. 39).
