    This is the only study published by Gérard Timsit in the "Les voies du droit" collection by PUF that has not been reprinted recently, even though the author refers to it in his famous work, *L'archipel de la norme*. Its rarity is thus only amplified. For in this present work, the author focuses on this Law, present despite its "silence." He traces its history, highlights its theological conceptions, both dichotomous and syllogistic, revisits numerous doctrinal currents, this phase of writing that translates the spoken word, the movement of codification, and the attempts at integration and, above all, interpretation of this law by humankind, which is ultimately no longer excluded from the process. This work is, in reality, devoted to this evolving normative order, which aspires to be a "dialogical system."
