Denis Lebrun [or Le Brun], who died in 1708, never saw his Treatise published, as the first edition dates from 1709 (by Hideux). Dupin (ref. 1518) specifies that "The important question of the effect of stipulations of property, judged by a regulatory decree of 1760, against which an appeal was lodged with the Court of Cassation, gave rise, during the proceedings before the Council, to two learned memoranda, one by Target, signed by a lawyer at the Council; the other by Lalourcé. They can serve as a complete treatise on this subject." Last edition.
