"This work is intended for all those interested in political life, as it deals with the verification of credentials by the chambers and the judicial review by the Constitutional Council. It examines the significant reform introduced in this area since the 1958 Constitution by the creation of a supreme electoral tribunal. The first part of the work is devoted to the old system of verification of credentials by the chambers, whose origins date back to the Estates-General: (origin and historical overview, nature and scope of the chambers' jurisdiction, functioning of the verification of credentials under the Fourth Republic, need for reform: study of other systems of review). The second part, the most substantial, examines the principles of the new system in light of the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Council (organization and jurisdiction, review of challenges, scope and nature of decisions)." (La Revue administrative, no. 82/1961, pp. 457-458).
