This is the final version of the thesis defended in 1972 and revised for this publication. The thesis proposes "to reconsider the text of our various constitutions in order to extract the provisions relevant to administration and to determine, if indeed they existed, the conception(s) that our successive constituents may have formed of it, its nature, its organization, its role, or its function, in governing it. (...) The substantial contribution reflects the erudition that Mr. Lanza has wisely used with restraint, thus removing from the considerable mass of information he presents the ponderousness that would naturally give it its exceptional density." (J. Boulouis, excerpt from the preface). Rare.
