    The author, in addressing the difficult problem of the responsibility of the mentally ill and their guardians, provides us with a historical and comparative analysis of the issues of responsibility, concluding that it has been marked by the progressive recognition of an increasingly pronounced subjective psychological element. R. Demogue, in his preface, shares his moving reflection: “Each reader is free to judge this conclusion. But what the reader cannot fail to recognize is the value of a work done with care, demonstrating a true legal acumen that one would not be surprised to find in one of our Romanian friends, in the son of a country where a taste for law attests to common origins with other Latin peoples.
