3 vols. in-8, brown half-leather, gilt title and volume on smooth spines underlined by quintuple gilt fillets, speckled edges, handwritten Ex-Libris and card of “Maurice Guillaumat-Vallet”, presence of a postcard sent on April 28, 1913 giving a meeting at the “Bouillon Chartier”, two clippings from the chronicle of the Courts concerning the regulated profession of pharmacist, “anguish” in criminal law, a few leaves with handwritten notes, (corners very slightly rubbed, leaves slightly yellowed, underlinings and annotations in pencil), working copy, XVI-1046 / XIV-1094 /XIV-908 p.
A good edition of Marcel Planiol's treatise, written without the assistance of G. Ripert. This work also has a unique character: it is the working copy of the student Maurice Guillaumat-Vallet, which contains within it some pieces of life (a postcard with an invitation to the "Bouillon Chartier" in 1913, press clippings, a clipping with "Initials to be glued on the cover"...), while the Doctor of Law, having taken the oath in 1912, was killed in action on April 12, 1916 during the Battle of Verdun.
