    Dupin, ref. 1471, claims that this edition by François Pinsson, based on rediscovered manuscripts by the author, constitutes a continuation of previous editions, whereas a comparison of the text with the earlier edition clearly shows that it is, on the contrary, a completed edition. The work was one of the foundational texts of French Roman law doctrine, and its influence was considerable. Dupin also states that “some people claim that Mornac’s real name was Antoine Dolet, and that he was the brother of Léon Dolet, named by Loisel in the list of lawyers of 1590. Mornac is found on this list.”
