    "With great methodological rigor, Mr. Julien examines each of the contracts that spouses can enter into in light of the rules of matrimonial status. The particularities of these contracts thus become clearly apparent. Moreover, the author deserves credit for having explored, in studying their enforcement, a field that had scarcely been examined before. It is therefore worth drawing the reader's attention to the second part of the work, and in particular to the sections concerning the enforcement of valid contracts (pp. 157-187). Given these undeniable qualities, it is all the more regrettable that, in light of the reforms announced by the preliminary draft of the Civil Code, Mr. Julien's work appears somewhat outdated. At the very least, it will give the reader the opportunity to consider whether the revocability of gifts between spouses, which is slated for elimination, is not still defensible and whether the alternative does not still offer them a necessary protection today." » (Catherine Quiers, RIDC, n° 4/1966, p. 977 et seq.).
