    First published at the end of the 19th century, this comprehensive dictionary of law and criminal procedure has been reprinted numerous times. While lacking any doctrinal ambition, this text nonetheless constitutes an extremely useful synthesis for understanding positive law. The main entries are very detailed (lawyer 30 pp., provisional release 25 pp.), and others are explored in depth here even though they are rarely mentioned elsewhere (honors and precedence, bookstores, names and surnames, etc.).
