    4 vols. in-8, mottled blond calf, gilt title on tan morocco slipcase, spine with 5 raised bands decorated with fleurons and double gilt framing fillets, rolls on the bands and edges, red edges, (gilt faded on the tom., boards rubbed, headcaps and corners worn with scuffs), a fine copy except for the volume slipcases with faded gilt.
    Furgole was one of D'Aguesseau's closest jurists and, in particular, one of the true authors of the ordinances generally attributed to the chancellor. His works were published separately but, after his death, benefited from two collected editions: a quarto edition, which actually reused several earlier copies, and an octavo edition. We present here the second part of his works, which excludes the section devoted to wills. It is known that the author wrote on all the major subjects of private law. Less well known is that he is the author of a "Treatise on Universal Feudal Lordship and Natural Freehold Land," which is a general theory on land ownership from a feudal perspective, in its relation to the king's rights.
