    23 x 35 cm (approx.), political caricature from a period newspaper, (marked at the original fold of the newspaper, very slightly yellowed, cut in a... artisanal way [!]), good condition.
    This caricature was published during the examination of the first "so-called anti-rioter law," adopted under the Chaban-Delmas government on June 8, 1970, two years after the events of May 1968. It was repealed in 1981, but its relevance is particularly striking given the recent adoption of the law of April 10, 2019, aimed at strengthening and guaranteeing the maintenance of public order during demonstrations. The caricature notably depicts (from left to right): Marianne, grimacing, surrounded by two police officers; in the distance, a glazier shouting to announce his arrival, pursued by two police officers; (on the Justice Counter:) [Mr. XXX, first stone]; Valéry Giscard d'Estaing; René Pleven; Georges Pompidou; Jacques Chaban-Delmas; [Mr. XXX]; Maurice Schumann; Michel Debré; Jacques Duhamel; (below, writing on a table:) Léo Hamon.
