    36 x 25 cm [framed 51 x 41], Lithograph in black enhanced with gouache on heavy vellum, signed in pencil lower left, period frame in thin wooden strip with an inner gilt border, lithograph in very good condition, especially the vibrant colours.
    A caricaturist, genre painter, and professor of fine arts, Hoffmann lived from 1883 to 1926. He produced about ten drawings on the theme of justice. The one we are presenting is the counterpart to another caricature featuring the same characters but entitled “The Agreement.” These lithographs were not widely circulated.
